Force Arena Update Review

In one of our earlier posts, we talked about the new "Force Arena" mobile game update. This update is the biggest one the game has made so far since the release. Now the game added a whole bunch of new cards, and it's time for a review and strategy post. With the new update's release, we decided to create a review about it. It's a pretty long article so just be ready.

The game added four new legendary cards including Darth Maul, Yoda, General Grievous, and Anakin Skywalker. The update is officially called Force Arena 2.0, mainly because it's basically relaunching the game. Force Arena 2.0 gives the game the characters and troops from the Clone Wars. The update now adds two more legions to the game. In Force Arena 1.0, the two legions were the Rebel Alliance and the Galactic Empire. The new update adds the Separatist Alliance and the Galactic Republic. The game also adds a whole bunch of new troops and vehicles to the game, so many that it's impossible to mention them all, but we'll create a good list for you.

  • IG 101 and IG 102 (Unique-General Grievous)
  • Mace Windu (Unique-Yoda)
  • Sith Probe Droids (Unique-Darth Maul)
  • Ahsoka Tano (Unique-Anakin Skywalker)
  • TX-225 Assault Tank
  • Death Troopers (Keep in mind, they were already in the game as Director Krennic's Unique, but now they are a rare card as well.)
  • Twi'Lek Flamethrowers
  • Republic Attack Gunship
  • Republic Commandos
  • Umbaran Soldiers
  • B-1 Battle Droids
  • Keredian Partisan
  • Aqualish Engineer
  • Riot Clone Troopers
  • Clone Troopers
  • Magnaguard
  • Droid Gunship
So if you haven't seen it already the new update changes the entire layout of the game. It's a lot nicer and more organized, and the training mode now allows you to play on "Easy", "Medium", or "Hard". Also, there's a deck editing mode, so you can play with whatever cards you want, even if you don't have them in your regular deck. One thing people are complaining about the new update is the fact that they got rid of the 2 VS 2 battle feature. Some people say that they're "not playing again until the 2 VS 2 feature is back," and that "there is no excuse for that decision". Although I do not fully agree with the idea to remove the battle mode, but there must be a reason. If the reason is revealed we'll do our best to alert you why.

The one thing I realize in this game is that in some legions, one legion has a better card than the other. In Force Arena 1.0, the Empire had the AT-ST, a card that seemed to only be countered by a legendary. Now in Force Arena 2.0, the Galactic Republic added the Republic Attack Gunship, which is now one of my favorite cards in the game. Compared to the new Separatist Droid Gunship, it's definitely better. The Republic Gunship attacks with torpedoes in a circular area. Then the gunship lands and four clone troopers jump out and engage in battle. It provides good air support and is great for a quick troop attack. The droid gunship doesn't introduce any droids into the battle, nor it should because it never has in all of the Star Wars universe. So Force Arena 2.0 adds another advantage to a legion in the game.

We might do some more analyses later with some of the other new cards, but for now we're ending this article here.
